About Community Connect

Community Connect was created with the objetive of being a platform through which  different community services can be linked, providing a bridge between programs. In turn, these can be easily accessed by anyone from the school community, be it parents, teachers, students or anyone who wishes to be involved and help the causes broadcasted.

The project aims to bring light to community service projects and make it so that any service they need done is easily displayed, so that anyone can help even if they are not formally involved. Additionally, fundraising can be done through the website and money can be donated online, continuing to aid the causes virtually.

More on the project

The idea of Community Connect emerged during the pandemic, in which it became harder to help the causes that were usually aided by the school's community services, especially as bake sales, charity runs and other fundraising events that simultaneously provided financial assistance and recognition were cancelled. Nevertheless, it became even more important to help them during these challenging times.

To this end, Community Connect was created so that it is easier for projects to be broadcasted and so that activities can continue, helping charities when they need us the most.

Through the website, the Paulean community can navigate the different community services that are offered and learn about the causes, observing what projects they have been involved in, what they are working on at the moment and what they aim to achieve in the future. Being so, viewers can search for a specific cause to help or navigate through filters to subjects that matter most to them. Within the charities' pages, viewers can contact the projects, volunteer to help (even without a formal commitment) or provide financial assistance. They can also note Community Connect's calendar for when events occur to see when they can get involved or help out.

Lastly, viewers can contact us if they know a charity that would like to be displayed in the website, and they can subscribe to Community Connect to receive updates about events and projects, as well as hear about new features that are added to the website.
